Waste

Objective
Use contextual research methods such as interviews, focus groups, contextual inquiry, surveys, cultural probes and questionnaires to uncover the culture of waste in Savannah, GA.

Outcome
Through a series of research, cultural props and interviews the team was surprised to find that the community had founded and adopted positive ways to deal with waste.


To recognize the community leaders focused on reducing waste the team created and hosted a "Waste Award" ceremony. During the ceremony, each leader was awarded with a local hero certificate and was given an opportunity to speak and share their experience.

In order to promote waste reduction in the community, the team created an app helping locals to locate waste centers around the area.
